Setting Up the Online Environment:
1st Tapped In Class: Tues, April 8, 7-8 PM PST.
We’ll discuss setting up everything for the course.
2nd Tapped In Class: Tues, April 15, 7-8 PM PST.
Follow up questions and sharing about our virtual environment.
Tapped In is a free edtech community which provides many resources and contacts. Our meetings are text chat sessions in Tapped In. Work will be done in your blog space.
Getting Your Tapped In Account:
1. go to www.tappedin.org and sign up for a new account.
2. You will get a username - email it to me. (example: I am TerryS)
3. I'll invite you to the Antioch Edtech group. Wait for my return email.
Joining Our Antioch Edtech Group:
4. After I email you back, return to Tapped In, login with username.
You’ll be in the Reception area.
5. Click the ME tab at the top of the screen, then Click GROUPS.
6. You’ll see that you have been invited to join Antioch Edtech.
7. Click on Antioch Edtech, then Accept the Invitation.
8. Upper right: use the pull down menu and go to Antioch Edtech. Click GO.
9. You are now in the Antioch Edtech classroom area.
Normal Login after Joining:
From now on, logging in is simple. Login to Tapped In, then use the pull down menu to go to our classroom, Antioch Edtech.Kind reminder: Use your best, spell-checked writing skills for all blog postings and assignments.

How-To Course Videos:
1. Watch the Tapped-In-1 and Tapped-In-2 videos for a demo of acquiring your username. Then, go to Tapped In and set up your account. Email your new username to me.
2. Install SKYPE. www.skype.com by 4/11 or as soon as possible – Under the Tools menu, Search for Skype users - find smithclass, then click on request contact details. Call me to confirm and have a quick voice chat (or video chat if you have a web cam). Explore the Skype pull down menus.

3. E-mail a small photo of yourself to your instructor. Next, write an introduction and post as your first blog entry: experiences with edtech in the classroom, subjects or grade levels you intend to teach, and any other details you’d like to share about your educational outlook.
